Over the past few weeks we have been in contact with Keith over at Hub City Inc. They produce power transmission products, gear drives and electric motor components. They have inquired about a quicker method to phosphate their metal parts to add lubricity and help stop gaulding. As you can see in the video, the metal parts, provided by Hub City Inc starts off as a polished, machined steel. The finish that is produced after the manufacturing process at Hub City Inc. requires phosphate to get the thread lubricant to adhere to the threads properly. We created a mock scenario for them in which the CPR System high pressure phosphating system can apply to their production process. For the test you will see we are using a black phosphate. When the metal sub strait is adequately covered with the phosphoric acid the phosphate turns black revealing the applied areas. Video and photos follow.
